Photocurrent Generation Properties of Half-Photocell Consisting of Electropolymerized Hierarchical Polythiophene Thin Films as Photoexciting Electron Donor and C60 as Electron Acceptor

Polybithiophene/poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)/indium-tin-oxide coated transparent glass electrodes were prepared by sequential electrochemical polymerization with cyclic voltammetry. The thickness of polybithiophene films was varied the scan rate applied potentials during polymerization. Obtained hierarchical polythiophene characterized absorption spectra, fluorescence scanning electron microscopy, laser and atomic force microscopy. Half-photocell properties thin evaluated a three-electrode cell in CH 2 Cl solution electrolyte C 60 as sacrificial acceptor under irradiation monochromatic light. absorbance increased decreasing polybithiophene. While, maximum peaks intensity internal quantum yield cathodic photocurrent observed at 20 nm film from side electrode. Almost external efficiencies to 1.5 μ m thicknesses films.
